Nicholas Jarecki is a New York Universitys Nicholas Tisch School
of the Arts
Graduate. He has directed music videos and short films as well as produced
and directed television pieces for clients such as HBO and IBM. Jarecki
lives in New York City.
In Breaking In, Jarecki shares highlights from his interviews
with Hollywoods most celebrated directors. Specifically, Jarecki
shares personal interviews with John Carpenter (Halloween, Escape from
New York), John Schlesinger (Midnight Cowboy, Marathon Man), and Fred
Zwick (Glory, The Siege).

Hosted by Bob Gerardi
Bob Gerardi
is a celebrated musician who has composed, produced and scored music
for feature films such as Trade Secrets and Desire as well as numerous
works for Network and Cable Television. He is currently a teacher in
the film department at New York Universitys School of Continuing
and Professional Studies where he teaches the course Music for Film
and Television. He also teaches the course The Director and the Composer
at the New School University.
In Music in the Movies, Mr. Gerardi will give a brief
technical analysis on how film music, a hybrid idiom, works
with the images as a narrative element to tell the story.
He will dissect the seamless integration between the elements of graphics,
sound and music which are the necessary components of great story telling.
